Who I am...

Founder & Lead Developer - Michael Le Blanc

Originally from upstate New York, now residing in the Tampa Bay area. Graduated from SUNY Oswego earning a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with a core concentrate in Business. Since moving to Florida in 1991, he has worked for a number of companies doing a range of programming on an even larger range of platforms. In 1996, he made the jump from the large iron to PC development. Current programming skill sets include: Visual Basic, Active Server Pages, HTML, and database development. An old employer of his had a saying.. "Michael doesn't let grass grow under his feet", and that holds as true today as it did back then.

What I Do...

The Iron(FE)-Works strives to come up with useful tools and web site creations that not only function to specification, but serve a desired need. Most of the applications I have come up with have come about due to personal want and/or need. Ever sit there and think to yourself "You know.. it'd be great if I had a program that would..."? Well, that is exactly what I do every day! I believe that "programmer types" are inherently lazy; and would much rather create a program to do a repetitive job for them instead of having to do it themselves. This, by no means, is a bad thing! The code I write today, could very well be the code that saves me a ton of time tomorrow!

My web based applications follow similar "rules". Whether it's online application processing, gaming sites, or personal interest sites; it doesn't matter. I want our sites to be information rich as well as pleasing to the eye. Flash and glitz are great, but if your customer/visitor walks away from your site with nothing other than residual flashes on their retinas, I haven't done my job!

Why I Do It...

This is the simple one... I like what I do! There is nothing more gratifying than taking a product from start to finish and being able to say "See that? I did that." So many times in your daily grind job, you never have that opportunity; that is what drives me to do what I do. Personal satisfaction in a job well done; is there anything else?
